Ohio Turfgrass Foundation (OTF) Conference and Show 2013

Recently, five Lawn Plus employees, including myself, attended the Ohio Turfgrass Foundation (OTF) Conference and Show in Columbus, OH. This year’s show was held on December 3rd- 5th at the Greater Columbus Convention Center and featured exhibitors from all over the world as well as education from some of the top researchers and industry professionals in the country. Our employees had the opportunity to attend classes, seminars, and trainings to stay up to date on the latest technology and research in the lawn care and turfgrass industries. We also had the pleasure of networking with many vendors, colleagues,  business owners, and professionals in the industry to discuss ideas and problems we face on a daily basis. There were many classes and seminars to attend given by professionals from around the country including; Dr. Ron Calhoun from Residex, Dr. John Street, Dr. David Shetlar, and Pam Sherrat, all from The Ohio State University, Nicole McFadyen, Head Groundskeeper from the Baltimore Orioles, Marty Grunder, Owner of Marty Grunder! Inc. and Grunder Landscaping, and Dr. Kevin Frank from Michigan State University. This year’s keynote speaker  was Coach Jim Tressel, former OSU football coach, who spoke about “Teammates and Leaders”. All in all, the 2013 OTF Conference and Show was a huge success. We had an enjoyable time and also learned a lot! We truly believe that continuing education and building a strong and knowledgeable staff is key in serving our customers. -Rodney Creech, Owner of Lawn Plus
